Kate Clover, by Rick Perez
In the monochromatic simplicity of this photograph, there's a story that pulses with life—a snapshot where time, sound, and emotion intersect. Here, Kate Clover is performing with her silhouette etched against the stark backdrop of the stage. The leopard print that sheaths her is not a costume, but a second skin, speaking to the primal essence of music. The details—the strain of a guitar string, the tousle of hair in mid-thrash—invite the viewer to lean into the moment, to hear the hum of the amp and fingertips on frets. It is a piece that does not shout, but rather hums with a resonance that is felt rather than heard..

About Artist:
Rick Perez, known in the photography world as 'Good Time Rick', carries the essence of music, portrait, and lifestyle photography through his lens. His artistic journey began early, photographing the escapades with his friends along the California coast starting at age 15. His twenties brought a significant move to New York City, a period of growth and exploration, where he honed his craft and found his calling among the musicians of the DIY scene. Rick's approach, characterized by his nuanced use of light and composition, allows him to capture candid moments, almost as if he's a fly on the wall, a skill that has not gone unnoticed. His work has been recognized by industry leaders, earning him accolades such as the Photo District News' 2018 Ultimate Music Moment Contest winner.
