Taylor Gallegos
Artist Statement: A question is more than it seems—it’s a canvas of curiosity, a frame for thought, a catalyst for connection. It disrupts, it invites, it opens. A question holds weight in its simplicity, creating space for dialogue, reflection, and discovery. It shifts perspectives, reframes narratives, and challenges what we think we know. In its essence, a question is art: unfinished until engaged, dynamic in its intent, and boundless in its potential.
Taylor Gallegos brings his introspective surrealism to Hotwater Gallery with "What's in a Question?"—an exploration of existential themes through vibrant grand-scale compositions.

Lu RODIGER
Artist Statement: As a child, I was raised by my witchy grandmother, a medium who spent her days healing my war-wounded grandfather. While she was busy with her rituals, I often found myself locked in a room, afraid of the shadows and visions that surrounded me. At the time, I didn’t understand that what terrified me most was part of a gift—an ability to perceive beyond the surface of reality.
Series: MOXTH GIRL
“She wakes at night and watches a moth drawn to the light, only to perish in its glow. It reminds her of the dangers of chasing shiny objects—money, fame, and obsession. Our senses can deceive us; just because something feels right doesn’t mean it’s true. Sometimes, we forget that darkness, though daunting, can be a friend. Shiny object syndrome blinds us, but it’s the courage to face the dark that keeps us truly alive.” -Lu Rodiger
